Just a quick note I thought I’d share since I struggled with this for a while. Converting a bitmap to vector in Fireworks is pretty straight forward(at least in my case). Here’s how

  1. Select the magic wand tool from your tool box
  2. Click within the area you need to convert to a vector, the magic wand should “magically” find the area and place a marquee around the selection
  3. Now within the marquee area Right Click->Modify Marquee->Convert to Path

Easy as that, I’m sure this doesn’t cover all possibilities and situations, but I’m not graphic designer.. so don’t ask too complicated of questions for me :)
